CITY MEAT MEETS THE BIG CITY

The City Meat Building wins DC AIA design award.

Reader & Swartz Architects, P.C. recently won a design award from the Washington, DC Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. The Award of Merit in Historic Resources was for the City Meat Building in downtown Winchester. This project was the adaptive reuse of a historic building. The building now houses the offices of Reader & Swartz Architects and Water Street Design, a graphic design firm.

The Squire's Dream Kitchen: An old Lowe's kit house in the country gets a makeover and lands in Washingtonian.

One of our projects, the Phelps / Cregan Residence, was recently featured in Washingtonian magazine. The project was included in the magazine's "Dream Kitchens" feature. This project involved the transformation of a Lowe's kit ranch house (the "Squire" model), which was built by the owner in the 1970's. The renovation converted the house into an open, light-filled loft space.
